What you need to know about the OSM
The Brotherhood of David and Jonathan, or the Order of the Secret Monitor as it is known, is one of the fastest growing Masonic Orders in the United Kingdom and the only qualification for membership is that of being a Master Mason of good standing.
The ceremonies are based on the Biblical story of the remarkable Friendship which existed between David and Jonathan which can be found in the Book of Samuel Chapters 20, 22 & 23.
An attraction is that this Biblical story predates the Solomonic (or Temple based) Rites of Freemasonry, for it was David of our story who’s son, Solomon, built the Temple. Do you know why it was Solomon rather than David that built the Temple ?
A unique feature of our (First Degree) Ritual is that it follows the Biblical story accurately – and involves the use of a Bow & Arrow in the Ceremony (it helps to have a practice first !).
There is a Second Degree and a Third Degree (but neither require you to balance an apple on your head !).
